Victoria stood in front of the porch windows watching Derrick hard at work in the garden. Anything to keep himself busy after the brush with death the two experienced a few nights ago. Victoria had been on pins and needles since she felt the invisible hand around her throat growing tighter and tighter making it impossible for her to breathe. And Loretta and Derrick were doing all they could to figure out who was behind the attack at the fairgrounds and why.

29: What Goes Up… – Pt. 2

“Try and relax Sweetheart, that pacing isn’t doing any of us any good.” Loretta spoke calmly as her fingers traced through lines of text within The Book of Elements. The incident at the light show left both Derrick and Victoria on edge but even more so filled with questions. The two quickly got back to the house and Loretta immediately went to work on trying to figure out what the sign meant and why it was directed at her granddaughter.

Victoria sat aimlessly watching the neighborhood kids running up and down the street playing games. Everything seemed so innocent and carefree yet beneath their outward appearance, she began to wonder if any of them had ties to the supernatural. It could be anyone, Loretta’s words echoed in her head. A crying child drew her eyes towards a tiny, orange house on the corner.
