As many of you were aware, Google had plans to implement a ban on sexually explicit/adult content blogs. Well I am pleased to announce: GOOGLE HAS BACKED DOWN!

Their offices, emails and phones were CLOGGED with bloggers who have had accounts with them for years discussing their displeasure about the change. And as such, 4 days after they announced they were closing down R-rated blogs, they have changed their minds.

If you have the “Adult Content” filter in place on your blogs, they will no longer be set to “private” as per their earlier announcement. They do ask that you keep the warning in place, however. And it appears the only blogs that will be affected by this are ones promoting commercial porn.
Hello everyone,
This week, we announced a change to Blogger’s porn policy. We’ve had a ton of feedback, in particular about the introduction of a retroactive change (some people have had accounts for 10+ years), but also about the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities. So rather than implement this change, we’ve decided to step up enforcement around our existing policy prohibiting commercial porn.
Blog owners should continue to mark any blogs containing sexually explicit content as “adult” so that they can be placed behind an “adult content” warning page.
Bloggers whose content is consistent with this and other policies do not need to make any changes to their blogs.
Thank you for your continued feedback.

This is a great day for bloggers alike! Congratulations everyone! :D

Goodbye to Blogger

Hello readers,

As a lot of you know by now, Blogger is enforcing a new policy soon concerning the censorship of nudity and sexually explicit content. You can find more information about it here. Basically, the change would set my blogs to “private” which would only be accessible by readers who share their email with me to be added to a reading list (meaning: no more lurking and no more anonymity).

Because of this, several other writers in the Sims’ community have chosen to preemptively set their blogs to private and move their work to other hosting sites (such as WordPress or Tumblr). I, unfortunately, do not have the flexibility of doing this.

I currently maintain 15 blogs on Blogger for several different stories, all of them containing some degree of nudity, sexual explicit, or adult content. I just cannot move EVERYTHING in order to protect the integrity of the story and I cannot simply make each offending post private, as per their suggestion. Making one post in violation of the new policy private would be like watching an episode of your favorite television show where the first 30 minutes is muted or blacked out. It undermines the author’s hard work and you, the reader, are in a position of not understanding what is happening because of missing information.

A few years ago, I made the leap FROM WordPress to Blogger because of the added design features and endless capacities for customization. It was a lot of work and took quite a while to get everything right but I did it and now it seems that all of my time and effort was for naught.

At this current time, moving would be a real pain involving an abundance of energy and I don’t know if I can devote time to doing that right now. So in light of the coming changes and if it turns out:
Note: We’ll still allow nudity if the content offers a substantial public benefit. For example, in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts.
does not apply to me as a writer, it would be my duty to inform all of you that this may mean the end to many of my stories as I won’t be able to move them all at once.

Congratulations, Google Blogger. You have completely alienated a large group of writers, artists and readers because apparently having the adult content notice in place is no longer enough. In instituting your new policy you are informing your public you care nothing of their freedom of speech and expression and, in my opinion, can no longer use the phrase “Happy Blogging” in good conscience; there is nothing “happy” about this.

PC/Story Status

Welp, Ladies and Gents, as you can see the status of my order is on pause. The computer parts are stuck on some dock in Long Beach (because of port authority problems) and have delayed the construction of my computer. Because of this, the "Expected ship date: 2/19/2015" has been pushed. From what I'm hearing now, they may not have the parts in stock until next week which means I won't have a ship date until March.

Some birthday present right? (Yep, "Sales post date: 2/6/2015" is my bday!)

Anyway, (glass half full) what this means is I have more time to write (or stare and "pretend" to write) chapters of After MidnightCodename: Danger, and Cold Blooded.

Story updates:

Codename: Danger - I have written Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 (which has been broken up into 2 parts, so far, pt. 1 is complete and I am working on pt. 2). It looks like by the time the computer arrives, I'll have this story completely written and will only need to do shots, YAY!

After Midnight - So far, there is a whopping total of 4 written chapters for this story. Which means, updates should get back on track soon.

Cold Blooded - As mentioned before, this story is relatively easy to write and since most of my time has been devoted to finishing CND, I haven't completed many chapters for this one. I believe I am sitting on a total of 3 written. But once CND is done, I'll have way more time to focus on my other projects!

I feel lately all I am doing is sitting and waiting and idle hands...let's just say my brain does not allow me to take many breaks and because of this there could possibly be way more stories running around up there than I can handle. Yikes! Well, that's all the news I have to report. I swear I'm having the shakes now though from lack of Sims.
