Cole Downing isn't the typical by-the-book Federal Agent. He does what is necessary to ensure the tenets of the Justice system are upheld by any means within legal reason. Cole worked his way up from recruit to Senior Analyst for the Behavioral Analysis Unit within the Federal Bureau of Investigation in just a few short years and now leads a team of hand-picked agents to crack some of the toughest cases. Earning his Master's of Law degree from Harvard Law School, his first venture into the public sector was with hopes of becoming an attorney like his father.

Instead he chose to break from his family's traditions and try his hand at criminal justice with the Federal government. Cole has a hard-nosed professional attitude but knows how to have fun and can easily transition from work to play with little effort. He enjoys the finer things his lifestyle can afford but never splurges on himself. He is caring, giving and kindhearted to everyone he meets and is known as the "Problem Solver" in his circle of friends.

The son of New York District Attorney Bennett Downing and Activist/Socialite Amanda, Cole is very used to the inner workings of court cases and charity work. When he isn't working out, you can often times find him manning the desk at Big Brother and Me, an organization very near to him since the loss of his own big brother David six years ago.
