“That’s right. You and your ‘Untouchables’ singlehandedly
ended the threat to prohibition and organized crime in Chicago,” Mike said, the
huge grin never leaving his face. “Honestly, you’re like one of my biggest
heroes!”
“It’s true. He has a framed picture of you in his
office…which is kind of surprising he didn’t recognize you,” Victoria smirked
at the displeasure on Mike’s face. “Anyway, you’re thinking it’s a threat from
Capone, Eliot?”
“I am indeed. I’ve just been appointed to the Bureau of Prohibition on assignment from the U.S. Treasury Department. I’ve been tasked with destroying all lines of illegal smuggling and thereabouts ending the reign of these gangs that are plaguing the city. I haven’t been personally assigned to the task force for Al Capone but, my department is working up to creating individualized teams who will cover different parts of the state. And you’ve ruined the surprise as to which city I’m getting.”
“Yeah,” Mike smiled sheepishly. “Sorry about that.”
“Don’t worry about it. At least I know I get the job done.”
“And then some.”
“Careful, Mike…” Victoria again warned and glanced behind
her at Derrick. “So, you knew Eliot Ness? Does that mean you’re in the city
somewhere?”
“I am. But…I wouldn’t suggest looking for me.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I just thought it was neat.
What other famous and historical people have you known; I mean aside from Ness
and Victor Hugo?”
“I’ll tell you all about it when we get home. For now, let’s
figure out how we’re going to make that happen.”
“Right,” Mike agreed, glancing over at Eliot. “Now that
you’re sure you know who put the hit on you, what’s the next move?”
“Well, honestly, I don’t think I need you guys from here. Judging by your reaction, I’m fairly certain I’m not going to be whacked by Capone.”
“It was my first time with the ‘juju,’ I didn’t know what it
could do, so I went with what I needed most.”
“Ok, so, if that’s everything, think we can work on how
we’re getting out of here?” Derrick asked, placing an arm around Victoria’s
waist.
“Wait, first!” Mike patted his back pocket in search of his
phone. “Damn.”
“Yeah, you dropped it in the office. Doesn’t matter though,
not like you’d have service here,” Victoria replied.
“Service, no. But
I was hoping to get a picture of myself with THE Eliot Ness.”
“Ah!” she nodded and retrieved her cell. “Then allow me.”
“Not at all,” Eliot replied, inching closer as Mike got into
the perfect ‘buddy cop’ pose.
“Say ‘Untouchables,’” Victoria took a few quick shots of the
duo in a few different poses but stopped before Mike got too carried away.
“Right, well, I’d like to thank you for coming to help solve
my little problem,” Eliot said, extending his hand to Mike. “You’re a helluva
detective.”
“Thank you, Eliot, for saying that. This has been a very
interesting experience,” Mike beamed. “Eliot fucking Ness.”
“Actually, the middle name is Paul,” Eliot joked.
Closing her eyes, she mumbled a spell beneath her breath. A
bright burst of light surrounded the trio and Eliot moved away as he watched
the glow become brighter as Victoria, Derrick and Mike became consumed in the
radiance before altogether vanishing.
“You know, for someone
as superstitious as you are, you certainly stumble into a lot of supernatural
cases, Mike,” Derrick teased once they were safely back at Moonlight.
“Yeah, it’s kinda my luck. Like the guy who hates humor becoming the butt of every joke.”
“Well, hopefully, you can stay out of trouble for the rest
of the night. Otherwise, I might kidnap you myself and put you to work at unpacking
boxes,” Victoria said.
“No, thank you. I think I’m gonna head home, take a shower,
have a few beers and try and sleep this off,” Mike replied, scooping Victoria
into his arms. “Thanks again, Vik. You’re always there when I need you.”
“And don’t you forget it.” Victoria and Derrick bid Mike goodnight before heading home.
“I know,” she paused, holding it over her head as he tried
to snatch it back. “I want to talk to you about something.” Derrick leaned back
in his seat and nodded and Victoria placed the book on the coffee table.
“Alright. What’s on your mind, Victoria?”
“Ok,” she sighed, exhaling a deep breath. “I know this is a
little out of left field but, I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Well,
ever since my run in with Cecily, and I think I have a pretty good argument for
it.”
“Well, are you going to tell me what it is or continue the argument with yourself?” Derrick laughed, watching her nervously fidget in front of him.
“Derrick!”
“Hmm?”
“I wanted to talk to you!”
“So, talk. I’m listening. I promise.” His lips moved from
her neck to her cheek and Victoria giggled before she started speaking.
“I think—I can make you better,” Victoria stated hesitantly,
gently rubbing her hand through his hair. “I know what happened last time
was…super scary. But I think, if you wanted, we could try again but in
moderation.”
“No, Victoria, you don’t know what you’re saying.”
“I do, Derrick. My blood can make you into a super being; well, more than you already are. And with everything that we’re facing lately, I think it would be smart to have that card to play. I know it scares you. I know you’re afraid of what I might think, Derrick. But you should know I’ve never seen you as a monster. I’m not scared of you. I’ve never thought lesser of you because of how you have to survive and that won’t change.”
“No. If we’re going to do this, we need to know all
variables.”
“So, does that mean you’re game.”
“I’m willing to try, Victoria.” Glancing up the stairs, he
smiled to himself before looking at her again. “If we’re doing this, I want to
make it special.”
“What does that mean?” Victoria asked with a smile.
“Wait here.” Disappearing up the stairs, Derrick prepared the bedroom by lighting candles and turning on low mood music. He wanted to show Victoria how much he appreciated her trust in him; giving herself completely was a big step in their relationship and he needed to make this perfect.
Derrick made it to her in two large strides. Snaking an arm
around her waist, he pulled their bodies together and leaned forward as
Victoria draped herself from his neck. “I’m always eager to please you,
Victoria.” The way he said the word please shot a pulse straight to her core
and she unconsciously moaned and tightened her arms around him.
Derrick dipped his head down, letting his mouth meet hers in the softest of touches. Victoria curled her fingers in his hair, pulling him harder against her lips and he began to kiss her, really kiss her. His tongue plunged into her mouth, his need apparent as he moaned with hunger and squeezed her closer against him. “Derrick…” she whispered softly against his lips.
“Oh my god, Derrick,” she sighed, firmly squeezing her breasts as he continued his explorations. His fingers plunged inside her again and again, curling, rubbing, stretching her as he listened to her symphony of lust. Victoria began rocking her hips, moving in sync with Derrick’s motions. She could feel him, hidden behind his jeans, his deliciously hard cock aching to be freed, his deep, heavy groans teasing at her ear.
“Derrick!” she moaned, her pulse pounding a thousand beats.
“Derrick,” she cried out again.
“I got you,” he replied, his mouth teasing her ear. Victoria arched her back, launching herself into her lover, allowing Derrick to thrust deeper and letting her orgasm ignite her body on fire. Instantly, her body shuddered, giving in to his will. Twisting, turning, the force of her climax hit her like a truck. Her head fell back against his shoulder, her core clenched and pulsed all around his fingers, her whole frame melting like butter under the sun. He held her firmly to his chest as Victoria was reduced to a quivering mound against him.
She did as he asked before guiding him between her legs. A hiss escaped his throat as her warmth quickly enveloped him and Victoria felt the glorious burn of his thickness thrust. Even as he started to pull out, she gripped him with arms and legs to force him deeper, crying out when that roughly buried him all the way inside her. His lips kissed her cheek as he increased his pressure and speed. Victoria reached her hand back and grabbed his ass, bringing him harder against her. “Yes, Baby, show me how you like it,” Derrick grunted, moving deeper at her beckoning.
“Yes. Don’t stop!”
“Victoria, I’m hurting you.”
“Please. I don’t care. Don’t stop.”
He continued the sensual rubbing while his hands moved over her until the rest of her nerve endings felt raw from pleasure. It was all too much. She lifted her hips to meet him, begging for more. Derrick moved faster, and felt her insides clench around him once more. “Mmm fuck, I love how your body grips me. Come for me, Baby,” he groaned.
“Yes, Derrick, YES!” Victoria cried as her whole body tensed
as pleasure wave after wave rolled through her that his kiss could not
completely muffle.
She could barely think through the ecstasy. Running her hands over his back and ass, she reveled in the feel of his sleek skin over those hard slopes and ridges. Then her nails raked deep, feeling his shudder all through her as he pushed harder, driving himself to her depths again and again. A long moan tore from her as he started to move with unrestrained passion, his hips demanding the same pleasure that was cascading through her. Victoria came with a climax that seemed to go on forever as an incredible rapture pulsed through her core.
Weakened and on the verge of passing out Victoria fought
desperately to return the dizzyingly intense sensations she felt. With all the
energy she could muster, she tightened her inner muscles with all her strength
and squeezed. Derrick gave a shout and Victoria relished in every one of the
deep spasms that came next. After the last shudder left him, he fell against
her as if his own body weight was suddenly too much for him to support.
Her body was on fire, her heart hammered in her chest. It felt as if thousands of little, electric currents were still rippling beneath her skin. Derrick finally lifted his head and balanced his weight on his arms. Slicing his thumb against a fang, he slid the droplets of blood over her wounds and smiled before leaning down to kiss her, savoring the taste of her lips. “Every time I think we’ve reached our peak it just keeps getting better. I love you, Victoria.”
“No. Nothing.”
“Does it feel different this time? Are you more in control?”
“So far, yes. I didn’t drink as much as last time. I was afraid of hurting you again.”
“Do you think that may be the key? If you concentrate on me; on our love
you can drink from me and allow me to empower you without losing yourself?”
“Maybe. We’ll know more in a few days.” Victoria sighed before a big yawn drew Derrick’s gaze. “Get some rest, Baby. I’ll be fine. I promise.”
